Volkswagen Debuts New VW Passat GT Concept

Here at Tom Wood Volkswagen, we've been waiting quite a while for the L.A. Auto show, mostly because we've known that VW would have something fun up its sleeve for tech-hungry California patrons, and based on the returns it certainly looks as if our patience has paid off. VW debuted the Volkswagen Passat GT concept vehicle at this year's exhibition, and while we don't yet know whether it will find its way to the model's trim lineup, we certainly are excited about the potential for an addition.

Essentially, the VW Passat GT features some visual upgrades that include a black honeycomb grille with red accent lines, special bumper treatments, black window surrounds, a black roof and a spoiler. There also are LED headlights, smoked taillights, a dual trapezoidal exhaust and a special sporty muffler. The wheels are larger than the standard version of the VW Passat, as well, and they include bright red brake calipers that combine with a slightly lower riding stance to improve handling and performance.

"The Passat GT is an early example of how the new Volkswagen North American Region will meet the needs and desires of American customers going forward," said Dr. Matthias Erb, Chief Engineering Officer, North American Region, Volkswagen. "We have the freedom and the responsibility to shape future North American vehicles here in the U.S., combining engineering resources from around the world with our unique perspective and talented local team."

While all of the VW cars available at your Volkswagen dealership serving Carmel, IN come with plenty of interesting trim options, the VW Passat GT would be a great addition to that particular lineup as a flashier, sportier version of a vehicle that customers already love.
